MakerDAO halts new WBTC-backed loans
MakerDAO approved a proposal by its participants to stop new borrowing by pledging Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) as collateral. We recognize WBTC as BitGo’s tokenized Bitcoin. The MakerDAO board approved an executive vote to ban new loans. These loans would lower the WBTC debt ceiling to zero DAI and would be secured by WBTC collateral. In addition, the administration set the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio for WBTC at 0%. Notably, MakerDAO allows users to mint the DAI stablecoin as an over-collateralized loan. These adjustments will not affect existing WBTC-collateralized loans as the liquidation threshold remains unchanged.
Arbitrum DAO approves temperature control proposal regarding ARB staking
Arbitrum DAO has adopted a temperature control proposal. This proposal focuses on increasing the use of the ARB token and strengthening the security of governance. The proposal aims to allow ARB token holders to stake and delegate their tokens in exchange for a liquid staked ARB token (stARB) representing their shares.
