Is Donald Trump’s election a victory for Ripple?

Donald Trump recently announced that Paul Atkins will be the new SEC Chairman. Thus, Atkins is preparing to take over from the current chairman Gary Gensler, who will leave his post in January. Many people trust Atkins to promote a more crypto-friendly environment. Therefore, this news attracted great interest in the market. One of the important cases closely followed is the ongoing Ripple and SEC case. Experts are now analysing the possible outcomes and how the case will be dismissed.

In an interview with Thinking Crypto, Ron Hammond of the Blockchain Association said that he has spoken to numerous lawyers from various companies, some of whom are involved in the cases, while others are not. The situation is not clear as the next steps in these cases are still unclear. For example, in the Coinbase case, things have progressed quite far and it is now difficult to step back. The SEC argues that these are securities. However, some commissioners, such as Atkins, are now stepping back, saying they no longer agree with this stance.
