Cardano’s Official Twitter Account Hacked
Meanwhile, Cardano (ADA), which is set to unlock tokens on December 11th, experienced a hack attack recently. Hackers managed to take over the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Cardano Foundation. In their first post, the attackers caused alarm in the community with the following statement:
“As the Cardano Foundation, we regret to inform our community that the SEC has filed a lawsuit against us on December 8, 2024. This unexpected legal situation compels us to immediately cease all support for ADA to ensure regulatory compliance.”
As reported by Kriptokoin.com, the post was later confirmed to be the result of a hack. Using the X platform’s community fact-checking feature, it was verified that the news was false. Following the development, ADA’s price dropped by approximately 1.5%. However, this incident did not trigger a broader sell-off or significantly harm investors.
