Leading cryptocurrency analyst Miles Deutscher outlined his comprehensive investment strategy for Q1 2025, emphasizing three key altcoin market segments: AI tools, utility tokens and elite meme coins. Among them is ENA coin.
Analyst reveals 2025 expectations
Deutscher’s analysis comes as the first signs of renewed buying interest in the markets have emerged as investors return from vacation. Deutscher points to several macro factors that could push crypto prices higher into March. The Fed meeting on January 30 and Trump’s inauguration on January 20 constitute what Deutscher calls a “potential catalyst window.” With no Fed meeting scheduled for February, a prolonged rally could be seen in the markets if the January meeting takes a dovish tone.
Deutscher identifies AI intermediaries as the leading sector in Q1, noting that it has gained 134% in the last 30 days. He divides AI investments into two categories: infrastructure plays for long-term holding and shorter-term trading opportunities. For infrastructure, he recommends projects like Virtual and AI16Z, which focus on building basic AI tools and platforms. The analyst notes how different the sector is from 2021’s market conditions, requiring more active management of positions.
Deutscher’s token selection: ENA coin, LINK, RUNE, meme coins
Alongside altcoins, the AI intermediary space continues to evolve every day, reflecting the meme coin dynamics in Q3 2024. Instead of “buy and forget” positions, Deutscher advises investors to protect their core holdings while keeping their capital ready for new opportunities. He explains how many AI projects that initially looked promising have been overtaken by newer, more innovative platforms. For positioning in the first quarter, Deutscher recommends splitting portfolios between stable utility tokens and more speculative AI plays.
He suggests keeping 60-70% in established projects, with the remaining capital being used for new opportunities. This approach aims to balance potential gains with risk management during what he expects to be an active trading period until March. Among altcoins, Deutscher outlines specific projects that he believes will lead Q1’s market movements. In utility tokens, he points to Chainlink (LINK), Ethena (ENA coin) and Rune as primary picks, noting their strong fundamentals and potential benefits from Trump administration policies.
For AI exposure, he recommends a mix of established and emerging projects. Mode and Imperial stand out as long-term investments that have delivered 3-5x returns since initial coverage. He follows newer startups such as AIXBT, GAME and LUNA for their infrastructure focus rather than purely speculative appeal. According to Deutscher, the meme coin sector requires careful selection. He watches IP-driven projects like Mew, which creates original content rather than copying existing brands. The analyst notes how Mew’s approach to brand building sets it apart from its competitors and acts as future price catalysts for potential exchange listings.
